In Trubble With the Law

I riding down the road at 30 mph (speed limit 25), straight through a red light (to give myself a little credit it was a 'T' intersection) wearing an ear bud in my right ear.
A motorcycle cop pulls up next to me and lectures me for the headset.

CAVC27400: No person operating any motor vehicle or bicycle shall wear any headset covering, or any earplugs in, both ears.

Running a red light and speeding and you get chewed out for violating a law you didn't actually break?

Gotta love the cops.

I remember breaking 5 laws simultaneously while biking in my days in Berkeley:
- no lights (it was at night)
- red light crossing
- headset in both ears for my CD player
- bike not registered
- no helmet (not sure if it actually a law...)
- probably too fast

Ahhhh those were the days!!!
Isn't it Kurt who used to say that you should only break one law at a time??
