Wow, that's commitment... I am also biking to work (almost) everyday now, starting in I think late april. I have 23km back and forth, almost no difference in topography (which means flat in Denmark, which is a good thing, except when there is wind, in your face, at all time and almost everyday...). My time started at around 40min (one way) and now I am doing it in about 28min and less sweat... I should have made a diagram like yours, although I have no goal in mind.
It is 8.5 mi (That is about 14km for those who don't have to suffer imperial units) through the beginning ripples of the Oakland hills. The goal is mostly there to drive me on, I picked it as something that was (supposed to be) unreachable.

What is your distance and topo?

I don't know how do make an elevation map, do you know of any software/websites that I can do that easily with?
